THE One Launches New Concept Store in Dubai
THE One is launching its exciting new two-in-one concept in home fashion retailing, THE One Fusion, with a suitably wacky Mad Hatter's Tea Party-themed event on October 18.
The brainchild of Thomas Lundgren, inventor of THE One and self-proclaimed Mad Hatter, THE One Fusion features two distinctly different furnishing concepts under one roof, contrasting the experimental with the more conventional. "THE One Fusion is a snapshot of the constant battle between my left and right brain - wearing my rational 'hat' one minute and being totally 'out there' the next," explained Thomas.
Upon arrival, partygoers were greeted by fire dancers and beating drums before following Alice down the rabbit hole to discover all THE 'Oneders' of Fusion. Mingling with Onederland characters they strolled through S.O.U.L (Spirit Of Ultimate Lifestyle) - the area Thomas describes as a reflection of his left brain. Here they found sensible, comfortable, high quality furniture in four styles, with soft furnishings that can be customised in terms of materials, colours and even comfort levels.
However, upon entering Thomas' Funk Yard (TFY), the 'right brain' area of the Theatre, guests were visibly wowed by the eye-popping, highly creative, individual nature of each piece. "I created the TFY concept simply so I could have more fun and do something really different. What you see here are crazy one-offs I designed just because I felt like it or cool stuff I fell in love with on my travels. If they make people smile, I'm happy," said Thomas.
Apart from the refreshingly different home décor, highlights of the evening included a discount of 30% on everything in store, an Dhs18,000 Gift Card Draw and Dhs2,000 prize for the maddest hat.
