Dubai Woodshow 2011

The world's economies are steadily treading the road to recovery after the two-year recession which caused the financial sector to fluctuate. As governments seek ways to revive their economies, diversification of income-generating sources has become the new trend.

The global wood trade is one of the sectors spared from the effects of the recession. The increasing volume of demand for various wood products in East Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Australia energized the export volume of producer countries including Malaysia, the United States, Indonesia and Brazil.

Within the thriving wood industry, there is an urgent need for suppliers decking expansion to network with resellers, traders and importers. The strategic point of exchange, discussion and trade are trade shows organized in the Gulf region.

Dubai International Wood and Wood Machinery Show

Dubai enjoys a strategic location along the trade route that connects Asia, Europe and Africa. The emirate is the regional hub for trade and re-exportation. Its viability as an important economic zone is reaffirmed by the re-emergence of its industrial and commercial sectors. Hosting the World Economic Forum for the past three years has secured its standing on the global stage among mature economies and developed countries.

The Dubai International Wood and Wood Machinery Show has successfully concluded five editions since 2006. Over the course of five years, more than half a billion USD in transactions have been closed between 700 plus exhibitors who have showcased their top wood and machinery products and 25,000 sector-specific visitors.

Dubai WoodShow stands as the hallmark for wood products such as timber, hardwood, softwood, plywood and hardboards, MDF, wood and timber flooring, treatment products, spraying equipment and raw wood materials in the Gulf region. A range of wood machineries including boring and combining machines, blades and knives, drying kiln equipment, plywood manufacturing machinery and dust control equipment are also exhibited.

In the Dubai WoodShow 2010, new event attractions were introduced such as the Dubai WoodShow Workshops, Roundtables and Forums. The Workshops provided a stage for wood professionals to demonstrate newly-discovered as well as time-tested techniques in woodworking. The Roundtables gave trade players an opportunity to explore and seal mutually-beneficial partnerships. Experts in the wood industry discussed matters relevant to the wood industry in the Forum, including wood pricing, green building compliance and new trends in business expansion strategies in the Middle East.

The sixth edition of the Dubai WoodShow will be held at the Dubai Export Expo from April 5th to 7th, 2011. More than 400 exhibitors are expected to participate with over 10,000 specialized trade visitors converging to Dubai for this 3-day must-attend event.
