APID and BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) come to agreement on International Dual Membership.
APID and the British Institute of Interior Design have come to an agreement whereby APID Professional Members are eligible for International Dual Membership in BIID. The benefits of dual membership are:
- The British Institute of Interior Design is the only body for interior design to be called an Institute as granted by the Secretary of State in 2009.
- Be part of an established, highly respected and professional body
- Use of BIID and APID suffixes beside your name.
- Permission to use the well recognised Logo on all marketing materials
- Access to the members are on the BIID website and receipt of all newsletters
- Dual members can attend BIID conducted CPD's. (Continuing Professional Development)
- Links with BIID Industry Partners and other members
- When working in the UK, dual members will be able to use the ID/10 and the Short Contract jointly published by BIID and RIBA.

APID Professional Membership
By being active as member of APID you support an effort to define structure and establish a strong professional association with personal and professional rewards. Membership in APID connects you to a community of designers, industry representatives, educators, students and client bodies, all committed to Interior Design. This is the highest level of membership and is granted to persons with the following levels of accreditation.
- Five year degree in interior design/ architecture + one year of professional experience, or
- Four year degree in interior design/architecture + two years of professional experience, or
- Three years certification in interior design/ architecture + three years of professional experience, or
- Two years certification in interior design/ architecture, + four years of professional experience, or
- One year of interior design education + six years of practical professional experience, or
- A secondary school diploma plus eight years of practical professional experience.
In such instances where the APID membership committee finds necessary, applicants will need to submit their portfolio of works to the assessment panel for membership approval.
Annual dues: AED 1000.
